Expatugal.com is a community platform for expats living in Portugal. We act as data controller for personal information collected through this website.
Name, email, photo, city, country of origin, profession and interests — only what you provide at registration. We do not collect payment data or track you across the web.
To manage your membership, display your profile to other members, and send you event notifications you opt in to. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third parties.
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data at any time. Email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNPD (Portugal's data protection authority).
We process your data under three legal bases: contract (managing your membership and event registrations), consent (the profile photo and bio you choose to share publicly with other members), and legitimate interest (keeping the community safe through registration review).
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, in their EU (Ireland) region. We don't transfer your personal data outside the EU/EEA.
We keep your profile data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile, photo, and event history within 30 days, except where we're required to keep minimal records for legal reasons.
